A short, checked list of open opportunities for the WildWooHoo community. Canberra and Sydney first.

We checked this list again this week. No new Canberra or Sydney opportunity cleared our verification bar, so the list stays as it was: two Canberra opportunities, still open, a drawing prize and a paid glass residency.

We keep this list short on purpose. We only list what we can verify is real, open now and has a genuine deadline still ahead of it. If that means fewer items some weeks, that is the trade we will keep making.

Canberra

M16 Artspace Drawing Prize 2026

Who: artists anywhere in Australia · Deadline: 11:59pm, Sunday 4 October 2026

An open entry drawing prize at M16 Artspace in Canberra, with a prize pool of more than $15,000. Traditional and experimental drawing practices are both welcome. No entry fee for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists or Pension Concession Card holders.

Canberra Glassworks, Graduate in Residence 2027

Who: early-career glass practitioners, Australian citizens, permanent residents, or artists based in Australia for six months or more · Deadline: 5 October 2026

A two-year, paid residency at Canberra Glassworks, four days a week with superannuation and leave. Aimed at recent graduates from glass programs, giving early-career artists a real foothold in the field.
