ANU has invited Dr WELI to co-host its alumni showcase, The Visionaries Among Us. The afternoon brings together ANU researchers working at the frontiers of artificial intelligence, astrophysics and Australia's deep history, from its ancient past to its possible futures.

The host
Weli hosts as an ANU alumnus (PhD) and a Visiting Fellow at ANU's Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. He is the scientist-artist behind Kangaroo Time, the AAAS Dance Your PhD Global Winner 2024, and now runs WildWooHoo, the science-to-art studio where he coined sci pop. His job on the day is to keep the science warm, clear and human, so every idea lands with the room.
Why it matters
The event puts frontier research in front of a general audience, and pairs some of ANU's most established names with the researchers coming up behind them. It is the kind of room WildWooHoo is built for: complex ideas, made into something people take part in.
